How do I get paid?
IMPORTANT: If you live outside of the United States you will be unable to accept donations via our platform.
The money donated to your fundraiser will be automatically transferred to your connected Stripe account within 30 calendar days. The steps you need to take to access these funds are:
Create and connect a Stripe account
Provide the name of the funeral home/crematory so Obituare can verify
Once this is done, your funds will be deposited automatically.
Troubleshooting
If it's been more than 4 business days and you haven't received your funds, here are a few things to consider:
Confirm that you have set up Stripe
Confirm you've added the name of the funeral home or cremation company (we need this to verify the passing). You can add it on the 'Passing Details' tab of your memorial site.
Check if you received an email from Obituare or Stripe requesting more information
You can always access your Stripe account via your Dashboard > Payout Details > View your Stripe Account
What are the payment options?
When you fundraise for a personal cause, you will be guided through the process of establishing a Stripe account. Stripe is a trusted and secure payment processing platform that allows you to connect your bank account or debit card.
Here’s what you should know:
The preferred choice for linking to Stripe is a checking account. Please note that Stripe does not support connections to savings accounts.
If you intend to use a debit card, it should be a major debit card. Prepaid cards are not compatible with Stripe. Additionally, it's important to know that debit cards have a daily maximum transaction limit of $3,000.
How long does it take to receive my donations?
Donated funds will be automatically transferred to your account after the processing period finishes for each donation. You do not need to withdraw the funds.
For U.S. bank accounts, transfers will take 30 days. Stripe doesn’t process payments over the weekend.
Bank accounts outside of the United States will not be able to receive funds.
What is a restricted Stripe account?
In certain cases (e.g. if you've raised over $1,000), our payment processor, Stripe, will require additional information from you before the money will be transferred. Here are a couple of things to do if your account is restricted:
Check your email (and spam folder). An email will be sent to inform you about the restriction of your account.
You can proactively visit your Stripe Express Dashboard and upload the required additional verification information.

If you think you should have received money in your account and haven't, visit your Dashboard > Payout Details > View your Stripe Account. You'll be able to check on the status there.
